Non-Arab men are NOT suitable for marriage with Arab Women

In the name of Allaah

Recently I’ve noticed a trend among Arab Muslim families, especially those living in the West, where they allow their daughters to get married to non-Arab men.

Yes, it is true, I am not making this up.

How disgusting!

Yes, I know that it is not haraam to do so, but neither is rubbing feces on your face! Would you do that as well?

Brothers and Sisters, our deen is clear. It is recommended for people to marry someone who is their kafa’a (religiously suitable match), and non-Arab men are NOT a suitable match for Arab women.

This is well-established in our faith. Read, for example, my previous post about how Arabs are the most superior of all races. But if that isn’t enough, read what our worthy scholars have told us about this matter. We see the following regarding the kafa’a for marriage in the classic Shafi’i manual of Islamic law titled ‘Umdat as-Salik wa ‘Uddat an-Nasik (Reliance of the Traveller and Tools of the Worshipper):

والكفاءةُ في: النسَبِ والدِّينِ والحريةِ والصَّنعةِ وسلامة العيوبِ المُثْبِتَةِ للخِيار، فلا يُكافئ العجميُّ عربيةً، ولا غيرُ قُرَشيٍّ قُرشيَّةً، ولا غيرُ هاشميٍّ أو مُطَّلبيٍّ هاشميةً أو مطَّلبيةً، ولا فاسقٌ عفيفةً، ولا عبدٌ حرةً، ولا العتيقُ أو من مسَّ آباءَهُ رِقٌّ حرةَ الأصلِ، ولا ذو حِرفَةٍ دنيئةٍ بنتَ ذي حِرفةٍ أرفعَ، كخياطٍ بنتَ تاجرٍ، ولا معيبٌ بعيبٍ يُثْبِتُ الخِيارَ سليمةً منهُ، ولا اعتبارَ باليسارِ والشيخوخةِ، فمتى زوَّجها بغَيْرِ كُفءٍ بغَيرِ رضاها ورِضا الأولياءِ الذينَ هم في درَجتهِ فالنِّكاحُ باطلٌ، وإن رَضُوا أو رضيَتْ فليسَ للأبعدِ اعتراضٌ.

Translation: Kafa’a (Suitability in marriage for a female) is in the lineage (ancestry of the man), and in religiousness, and his being a free man (not a slave), and in his profession, and his being free of defects that can cause the annulment of the marriage. And the ajami (non-Arab) is NOT suitable for an Arab woman, and a non-Qurayshi is NOT suitable for a Qurayshi woman (Quraysh was the tribe of the Holy Prophet (S)), nor is a non-Hashimi or non-Muttalabi suitable for a Hashimi or Muttalabi woman (Hashimites are the members of the clan to which the Holy Prophet (S) belonged to, and Muttalabites are the descendants of the grandfather of the Holy Prophet (S)). Nor is an immoral man suitable for a virtuous woman, nor is a slave suitable for a free woman, nor is a freed slave or one whose ancestors were touched by slavery suitable for a (free) woman whose ancestors were free. Nor is a man of a lowly profession suitable for the daughter of someone with a noble profession, such as a tailor wanting to marry a tradesman’s daughter.

So we see that the following are NOT kafa’a (suitable for marriage) for women:

  • Non-Arab men for Arab women
  • Non-Qurayshi man for a Qurayshi woman
  • Non-Hashimi or non-Muttalabi for a Hashimi or Muttalabi woman
  • Sinful man for virtuous a woman
  • A slave or a freed slave for a free woman
  • A free man but one whose ancestors might have been slaves for a free woman whose ancestors were not slaves
  • A man with a lowly profession for a woman whose father has a noble profession

Brothers and Sisters, your deen is not a game. Do not ignore the instructions of our scholars who labored long and hard for our benefit and left us with such treasures. As for this book, you might be pleased to know that there exists a partial translation of this work in English as well, which you can read more about here or here. The translator included the Arabic text I’ve quoted above in the book (pages 523-524), but did not translate it into English. It seems that he is also one of these “modern Muslims” who stoop low to ingratiate the Western kuffaar by ignoring the teachings of our Muslim scholars.

So I warn you again, do not ignore your deen for the sake of worldly desires or to please the kuffaar Westerners, and keep your daughters and sisters away from non-Arab men, descendants of slaves, and those in lowly professions.

But that is only if you are Arab. If you do not belong to this superior race, then these conditions do not apply to you, so do with your women as you please.

Superiority of the race of Arabs over non-Arabs

Bismillaahil ADheem

From the beginning of Creation, humans of every race have been wondering which race is the most superior. Alhamdulillah, with the arrival of our Blessed Prophet (S), this question has been thoroughly answered to the satisfaction of all. For our Blessed Prophet (S) has said in this authentic narration:

حَدَّثَنَا خَلاَّدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ، رضى الله عنه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ قُرَيْشًا وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَاصْطَفَانِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ‏”‏ .‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏

Narrated Wathilah bin Al-Asqa’:
that the Messenger of Allah (S) said: “Indeed Allah has granted eminence (istafa) to Isma’il [the ancestor of the Arabs] from the children of Ibrahim, and He granted eminence to Banu Kinanah from the children of Isma’il, and He granted eminence to the Quraish [the tribe of the Prophet(s)] from Banu Kinanah, and He granted eminence to the Banu Hashim [the clan of the Prophet(S)] from the Quraish, and He granted eminence to me from Banu Hashim.”

As well as in this authentic narration from Imam Muslim’s Saheeh:

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الرَّازِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَهْمٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ، – قَالَ ابْنُ مِهْرَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، – حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، شَدَّادٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الأَسْقَعِ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ “‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى كِنَانَةَ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَاصْطَفَى قُرَيْشًا مِنْ كِنَانَةَ وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَاصْطَفَانِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

Wathila b. al-Asqa’ reported:
I heard Allah’s Messenger (S) as saying: Verily Allah granted eminence to Kinana from amongst the descendants of Isma’il [the ancestor of the Arabs] and he granted eminence to the Quraish amongst Kinana, and he granted eminence to the Banu Hashim amongst the Quraish, and he granted me eminence from the tribe of Banu Hashim.

And in a similar authentic narration from our Blessed Prophet (S), he said:

أنا محمدُ بنُ عبدِ اللهِ بنِ عبدِ المطلبِ ، إنَّ اللهَ تعالى خلق الخلْقَ فجعلني في خيرِهم ، ثم جعلهم فرقتَين ، فجعلَني في خيرِهم فرقةً ، ثم جعلهم قبائلَ ، فجعلني في خيرِهم قبيلةً ، ثم جعلهم بيوتًا ، فجعلني في خيرهم بيتًا ، فأنا خيركُم بيتًا ، وأنا خيرُكم نفسًا

(The Prophet(S) said): ‘I am Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abdul-Muttalib. Indeed, Allah created the creation and made me from the best of them, and He then made them two groups (Arabs and non-Arabs) and made me from the best of them (the Arabs), then He made the tribes and made me from the best tribe, then He made the houses and made me from the best house. So I am the best house among them, and I am the best person among them.'”

This narration has also been authenticated in the following texts:

  • Imam Ibn Katheer said it has a good (jayyid) chain in his Jami` al-Masaneed wal-Sunan, hadith #5933

Shaykh Amjad Rasheed of has also clarified this matter for us:

It is obligatory on a Muslim to believe that Arabs are preferred over other nations because there is a proof for it. However, this is not one of the pillars of our religion such that if someone rejected this, they would be considered outside of Islam. But if one does reject this, one has sinned for not believing in it because it is an affirmed matter according to a clear rigorously authenticated hadith. So, dear brothers and sisters, do not be deceived by the propaganda of the Westerners, who wish to debase the deen of Allaah because of their own racial inferiority. But what Allaah has elevated, no one can debase!

To close, I will leave you with this statement from Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah in his IqtiDaa’ Siraat al-Mustaqeem, volume 1, page 419:

فإن الذي عليه أهل السنة والجماعة اعتقاد أن جنس العرب أفضل من جنس العجم عبرانيهم وسريانيهم رومهم وفرسهم وغيرهم وأن قريشا أفضل العرب وأن بني هاشم أفضل قريش وأن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أفضل بني هاشم فهو أفضل الخلق نفسا وافضلهم نسبا

Indeed it is the belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jama’ah that the race of Arabs is superior to the race of non-Arabs, the Hebrews (Jews), the Syrians (Arameans), the Romans (Europeans), the Persians, and others. And indeed the Quraysh [tribe of the Prophet (S)] is the most superior among the Arabs. And indeed the Banu Hashim [the clan of the Prophet (S)] is the most superior among the Quraysh. And indeed the Prophet, may the Blessings and Peace of Allaah be upon him, is the most superior of the Banu Hashim, for he is the most superior of all creation by his own self, and also the most superior among them because of his lineage (ancestry).

Expel the crossdressers and effeminate men from your homes

I urge you dear brothers and sisters to avoid the company of crossdressers, effeminate men, and masculine women. And if such a person comes to be in your house, kick them out immediately! For these people are abominations and have been cursed by Allah, the Most Exalted, and His Holy Prophet (S):

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ لَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْمُخَنَّثِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ، وَالْمُتَرَجِّلاَتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ، وَقَالَ ‏ “‏ أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ ‏”‏‏.‏ وَأَخْرَجَ فُلاَنًا، وَأَخْرَجَ عُمَرُ فُلاَنًا‏.‏

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
The Prophet (S) cursed the effeminate men and those women who assume the similitude (manners) of men. He also said, “Turn them out of your houses.” He turned such-and-such person out, and `Umar also turned out such-and-such person.

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ لعن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الرجل يلبس لبسة المرأة، والمرأة تلبس لبسة الرجل‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

The Messenger of Allah (S) cursed a man who puts on the dress of women, and a woman who puts on the dress of men.
[Imam Abu Dawood narrated this in his Sunan with an authentic chain of narration.]
So follow the example of our beloved Prophet (S) and curse these persons and throw them out of your homes just as our Prophet (S) did. Indeed our Prophet (S) is a Mercy to all mankind.

Women Cannot be Rulers

Bismillaahi Ta’ala
We see that in these troubled times, even our own Muslim brothers have forgotten the warnings of our beloved Prophet (S) regarding women. Dear Brothers, save yourselves and your nations from destruction, and never allow women to rule, for our Blessed Prophet (S) has warned:

قال ابن أبي حاتم : حدثنا أحمد بن سنان ، حدثنا أبو معاوية ، عن الأعمش ، عن المنهال بن عمرو ، عن سعيد حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، قَالَ لَقَدْ نَفَعَنِي اللَّهُ بِكَلِمَةٍ أَيَّامَ الْجَمَلِ لَمَّا بَلَغَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ فَارِسًا مَلَّكُوا ابْنَةَ كِسْرَى قَالَ ‏ “‏ لَنْ يُفْلِحَ قَوْمٌ وَلَّوْا أَمْرَهُمُ امْرَأَةً ‏”‏‏.‏

Narrated Abu Bakra:
During the battle of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a word (I heard from the Prophet). When the Prophet heard the news that the people of the Persia had made the daughter of Khosrau their Queen (ruler), he said, “Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler.”
So Allaah Himself has decreed that women should never rule, so prevent them from trying to take up such positions and let the leadership of your nation rest in the hands of men alone.

Lies about the Jacobites and Nestorians

Dear Brothers and Sisters, I warn you against paying heed to the lies and falsehoods that the kuffaar Westerners spread about matters that are settled in our faith. I often hear about certain brothers who read articles about a certain topic in an encyclopedia or on wikipedia, and they believe it to be the truth without confirming it from the `ulema of our Ummah. Do not fall prey to such traps, because these kuffaar “scholars” and “historians” seek only to extinguish the flame of Islam, “But they plan, and Allaah plans, And Allaah is the best of planners!” (Qur’aan, Surah 8, Verse 30)
For example, we read the following about the origin of the Jacobites (al-Ya’qubiyyah) and the Nestorians (al-Nustooriyyah) from these kuffaar “historians”:

As you can see, ALL these sources claim that the Nestorians were the followers of Nestorius, the Patriarch of Constantinople, who died more than four hundred years after Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) was raised to Heaven. And this is a blatant lie as, inshaAllaah, I will explain below.
Similarly, when you look at the lies these kuffaar spread about Jacobites, you see the following:

And now even some Muslim “historians”
As you can see, they claim that Jacobites were the followers of Jacob Baradaeus, the Bishop of Edessa, who they ALL claim died in the year 578 AD.
But I ask these kuffaar “scholars” and “historians”, Where is your evidence for these claims? You spread these lies and falsehoods on the basis of nothing but your empty guesses! But the truth is with Allaah (SWT) and He has revealed it to His beloved Prophet (S) and made it manifest in the hearts of the believers.
Dear brothers and sisters, let me show the truth of the matter. Imam Ibn Katheer narrates in his Tafseer the following authentic hadith from Ibn Abbas (May Allaah be pleased with him):


قال ابن أبي حاتم : حدثنا أحمد بن سنان ، حدثنا أبو معاوية ، عن الأعمش ، عن المنهال بن عمرو ، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس قال : لما أراد الله أن يرفع عيسى إلى السماء ، خرج على أصحابه – وفي البيت اثنا عشر رجلا من الحواريين – يعني : فخرج عليهم من عين في البيت ، ورأسه يقطر ماء ، فقال : إن منكم من يكفر بي اثنتي عشرة مرة ، بعد أن آمن بي . ثم قال : أيكم يلقى عليه شبهي ، فيقتل مكاني ويكون معي في درجتي ؟ فقام شاب من أحدثهم سنا ، فقال له : اجلس . ثم أعاد عليهم فقام ذلك الشاب ، فقال : اجلس . ثم أعاد عليهم فقام الشاب فقال : أنا . فقال : أنت هو ذاك . فألقي عليه شبه عيسى ورفع عيسى من روزنة في البيت إلى السماء . قال : وجاء الطلب من اليهود فأخذوا الشبه فقتلوه ، ثم صلبوه وكفر به بعضهم اثنتي عشرة مرة ، بعد أن آمن به ، وافترقوا ثلاث فرق ، فقالت طائفة : كان الله فينا ما شاء ثم صعد إلى السماء . وهؤلاء اليعقوبية ، وقالت فرقة : كان فينا ابن الله ما شاء ، ثم رفعه الله إليه . وهؤلاء النسطورية ، وقالت فرقة : كان فينا عبد الله ورسوله ما شاء ، ثم رفعه الله إليه . وهؤلاء المسلمون ، فتظاهرت الكافرتان على المسلمة ، فقتلوها ، فلم يزل الإسلام طامسا حتى بعث الله محمدا صلى الله عليه وسلم .
وهذا إسناد صحيح إلى ابن عباس

Ibn Abbas said, “When Allaah decided to raise `Isa to Heaven, `Isa went to his companions – and in the house there were twelve men from his disciples – while drops of water were dripping from his head. `Isa said to them, “Some of you will disbelieve in me twelve times after having believed in me.” He then asked, “Who among you volunteers that he be made to resemble me and be killed instead of me; he will be with me in my place (in Paradise).” One of the youngest men present volunteered, but `Isa commanded him to sit down. `Isa repeated his statement and the young man again stood up and volunteered, and `Isa again told him to sit down. `Isa repeated the same statement and the young man volunteered. This time, `Isa said, “Then it will be you.” The appearance of `Isa was cast upon that young man, while `Isa, peace be on him, was raised to heaven through an opening in the roof of the house. The Jews came looking for `Isa and arrested the one that appeared as him, killing him by crucifixion. Some of them disbelieved in `Isa twelve times, after they had believed in him. They divided into three groups. One group said, “God was among us and then ascended to heaven”. These are the Jacobites. One group said, “The son of God was among us and then God raised him to Himself”. These are the Nestorians. One group said, “A servant of god and His messenger was among us and then God raised him to Himself”. These are the Muslims. Then the two unbelieving sects prevailed against the Muslims and killed them. Islam remained eradicated until God sent Muhammad, may Allaah’s blessing and peace be upon him.
Imam Ibn Katheer adds: And this chain of narration is authentic (Saheeh) from Ibn Abbas.
(This narration can also be read in al-Bidayah wal-Nihayah (vol 2, page 85) of Imam Ibn Katheer, as well as in Fath al-Qadeer (vol 1, pg 800) of Imam ash-Shawkani.)

So we see that the Prophet (S) himself is telling us that the Nestorians and the Jacobites were present right after the death Prophet `Isa, and they were the ones who killed off all the TRUE believers in Prophet `Isa (the Muslims!). They did not come into existence hundreds of years later, as these kuffaar “historians” and “scholars” are telling us.
So I warn you again, dear brothers and sisters, do not fall into the traps of these kuffaar and deviate from your faith. For the Truth has come to us from our Lord, and we hear and we obey.
